The Jets could be nearing hires.

Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and Commanders assitant general manager Lance Newmark were in Florham Park on Tuesday for second round interviews for the Jets’ open head coach and general manager jobs respectively. The duo has left the team facility without contracts in place.

Of course, it is entirely possible, perhaps even likely, that the two will sign on to run the Jets. The team certainly sees to be proceeding that way.

Those aren’t the actions of a team expecting things to fall through.

Back in 2021, much was made when Robert Saleh left an interview without a contract in place. Shortly after, he had a deal in place to become the next head coach of the Jets.

I think after a long wait, people tend to be a bit apprehensive and impatient. However, it sees like the Jets will have new leadership in place sooner rather than later, and it is quite likely that leadership will be Glenn and Newmark.
