With the Los Angeles Rams preparing for the 2026 season, people are speculating whether Aaron Donald will return, especially since the team made the blockbuster trade for Myles Garrett. As fans fantasize about the Rams’ pairing of Donald and Garrett, the retired defensive tackle’s former teammate would speak about the rumors.

Andrew Whitworth played in the NFL for 16 seasons, five with the Rams, being one of the best offensive linemen in the league throughout his career. On the other side of the ball was Donald, as in an interview with D.J. Siddiqi at Casino.ca, he would say that if Donald came back, it would be “scary.”

“Listen, if Aaron Donald makes that decision, I know it’s going to be from a place of his heart is in it, and at that point it becomes scary,” Whitworth said. “Having the potential to do it and the opportunity to do it, that’s the easy part for that guy. It’s whether he wants to. He’s one of the rarest humans I’ve ever been around. Not just physically, just in general. How he works and his determination is one of one. If he decides it’s go time, watch out.”

Andrew Whitworth on the chance that Aaron Donald returns to the Rams

Whitworth would continue talking about the possibility of Donald returning to the Rams for the 2026 season at 35 years old, saying how he has been trying to get a “percentage” from his former teammate on the chances of him coming back.

“I’ve been trying to get him to give me a percentage for about two weeks now,” Whitworth said. “I just want him to give me something I can get excited about. He won’t do it. He’s holding out the information on me. But we’ve talked about it a little bit, and I think for him, he’s a guy, he’s like me. I work out probably more now than I did when I played, and so I think AD still trains a ton.”

At any rate, it remains to be seen if Donald comes back to Los Angeles.
