90 Buffalo Bills players in 90 days: G Dan Feeney

The Buffalo Bills and general manager Brandon Beane like versatile offensive linemen, especially if those linemen are slated to be reserves. Sometimes, Buffalo keeps those players active on game days. Sometimes, they’re on the 53-man roster, but are scratched on game days. Sometimes, those players are released and re-signed to the practice squad, or even flipped for draft choices at the end of the preseason.

It’s hard to know exactly what’s going to happen with an offensive lineman set to be a backup on this Buffalo team, but one thing is clear: the team has its intended starting five up front in the building, and it’s the same group that started last season. The Bills also have all of their reserves from 2024 on the roster, as well. Does that mean the Bills will go with the same group of o-linemen as last season?

In today’s installment of “90 players in 90 days,” we discuss a recently signed veteran offensive lineman.

Name: Dan Feeney
Number: 60
Position: G
Height/Weight: 6’4”, 310 pounds
Age: 31 (32 on 5/29/2026)
Experience/Draft: 9; selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the third round (No. 71 overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft
College: Indiana
Acquired: Signed with Buffalo on 8/4/2025

Financial situation (per Spotrac): While Feeney’s deal has yet to be reported officially, the minimum salary for a player with his service time is $1.255 million. That’s likely the total worth of the contract, which would become fully guaranteed if Feeney were to appear on the 53-man roster for Week 1 thanks to his status as a vested veteran.

2024 Recap: Feeney spent the 2024 season as a reserve with the Minnesota Vikings, and he was a healthy scratch more often than he was active for games. When he was active, he only played on special teams, and he did that on a limited basis. Feeney appeared in eight games, playing a total of 40 snaps on special teams. He was inactive for Minnesota’s 27-9 loss to the Los Angeles Rams during Super Wild Card Weekend.

Positional outlook: While Feeney is listed as a guard, he also has experience playing center. The other interior offensive linemen on the roster are Connor McGovern, O’Cyrus Torrence, David Edwards, Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, Jacob Bayer, Kendrick Green, and Mike Edwards. Tylan Grable and Alec Anderson are listed at tackle but can also slide inside to play guard.

2025 Offseason: Feeney is healthy and participating in camp practices since he signed with the club.

2025 Season outlook: Like veteran Will Clapp last season, Feeney provides the Bills with a high floor and plenty of experience among their reserves, and also in case of emergency in the form of injury. Unlike Clapp, Feeney was added so late in the offseason that it’s hard to figure that he’ll stick around with the team long-term. It’s worth noting, as well, that Clapp signed in March last year and was waived at the end of the preseason.

That’s not to say that it’s...
