A total of 12 Kansas City players did not participate in full workouts during Wednesday’s voluntary OTA session.
On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs conducted the third and final session of this week’s voluntary Organized Team Activities (OTAs) at the team’s practice facility on the grounds of the Truman Sports Complex. Our Pete Sweeney was among the media representatives who got another look at the 2025 Chiefs during their sixth Phase 3 practice.
This included first-round rookie tackle Josh Simmons, who was limited in last Thursday’s OTA practice — the last one open to reporters — but was a full-go on Wednesday.
Nine players — running backs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, wide receivers Hollywood Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, tight ends Travis Kelce and Tre Watson, offensive linemen Ethan Driskell and Trey Smith and defensive tackle Chris Jones — were all absent from the voluntary session.
Wideout Rashee Rice and offensive tackle Jawaan Taylor — both of whom were absent on Thursday — were on the practice field.
Players who were present (but whose participation was limited in some way) included Taylor, tight end Jared Wiley and tackle Jalon Moore.
We should emphasize that what we observed on Wednesday does not allow us to draw any conclusions about player absences (or playing status) for the OTA sessions on Monday and Tuesday.
The team will have one more round of voluntary OTA sessions, which will take place Tuesday through Friday of next week. The media will be present for next Thursday’s practice.
The team’s mandatory minicamp will be conducted June 17-19.
