We are 74 days away from the Kansas City Chiefs‘ season-opening game against the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football” in Week 1.

The No. 74 jersey is currently vacant after starting right tackle Jawaan Taylor was cut this offseason. He wore it during his three years in Kansas City.

He is one of the few famous (or infamous) all-time Chiefs to wear the number:

All-time Chiefs who wore No. 74

The best No. 74 of all-time: Jerry Cornellson (1960-1965)

Cornellson was a Pro Bowl player on the 1962 AFL Champion Dallas Texans

Most infamous: Jawaan Taylor (2023-2025)

The string of offside penalties makes him the most infamous, despite being a starting offensive tackle during the team’s run to a second consecutive Super Bowl title in 2023.

Best name: Dino Mangiero (1980-1983)

Most likely to join a fight: Kyle Turley (2006-2007)

Most likely to succeed: Eric Winston (2012)

The one-year Chiefs offensive lineman became the President of the NFLPA two years later, serving from 2014 to 2020.

74: The number of passes thrown to Hollywood Brown last season

The Chiefs are clearly thin at wide receiver, and there wasn’t much work done to replace the vacated targets of wide receiver Hollywood Brown, who signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency.

That was 24% of the team’s targets towards a wide receiver last season. It was also the second-most on the team among all wideouts, only trailing Rashee Rice with 78 targets.

Will these vacated targets be filled by more passes to the running backs? Tight ends? Or does an unsung wideout like Jalen Royals or rookie Cyrus Allen step up to fill the void? Let us know what you think!
