Dolphins tight end Tanner Conner wears orange as Miami begins mandatory minicamp.

The Miami Dolphins began mandatory minicamp on Tuesday afternoon in Miami Gardens, Florida, and while some players decided to stay away from practice, most of the squad was in uniform and ready to work hard!

Absent one important tight end, a lesser used role player in that position group took a step forward — donning the orange jersey given to the team’s best practice player from the prior session. That player was fourth-year veteran, Tanner Conner!

Through three seasons with the Dolphins, the former college wide-receiver has found his transition to tight end to be a tough one. Injuries have hampered Conner’s development, with the 27-year-old only being able to suit up for a total of 24 games during that time. In those 24 games, Conner has only nabbed 3 receptions on 7 targets for a measly 16 yards.

Still, with Jonnu Smith skipping minicamp while he tries to redo his contract with Miami, Conner seems to be impressing his teammates and coaching staff. Will that eventually translate to on-field production? Only time will tell.

We will be tracking which players receive the orange jersey honor as the offseason progresses. Want to help? Hit us up on Twitter/X at @thephinsider, or reach out to Marek Brave directly at @MBrave13, and let us know who is rocking the jersey with pride each day! Fins up!
