After months of trying to find a trade, the Green Bay Packers finally decided to release starting cornerback Jaire Alexander. His $16 million cap hit, along with only being available for seven games per season across the past two years surely played the biggest factor in his release.

Yet, the two-time Pro Bowl cornerback has also shown the ability to play at a really high level, when healthy. Still just 28 years old, if Alexander can impress in a workout, teams could become convinced that he’s capable of filling a starting cornerback slot again in 2025.

But which team is considering making an upgrade to their secondary this fall? Apparently, a lot of them are.

According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, “six” teams made “immediate” inquiries about Alexander as soon as he was released from the Packers. A previous report indicated that the Buffalo Bills had entered exploratory trade talks for Alexander earlier in the offseason, so it’s certainly possible they’ll circle back. However, the Bills also spent their first-round pick on cornerback Maxwell Hairston.

While the Bills may or may not be interested, there are several other contending teams who could be looking to strengthen their secondary with someone like Alexander. Plus, teams who may be entrenched in trade negotiations for Jalen Ramsey could be focusing on securing Alexander off the free agency market instead of forking over precious draft capital too.
