Saquon Barkley scored the first touchdown in the NFC Championship game against the Washington Commanders. Jalen Hurts scored the first TD in the NFC Divisional Round against the Rams. You could take either here straight up and it’d be hard to find a fault, but the OR option is a nice safeguard against a tush push and still provides 2-1 odds.
Don’t know what an Octopus is? Don’t worry, we can explain.
For those who do know, just keep in mind Jalen Hurts recorded one in the 2023 Super Bowl. You can also bet on Barkley to record an Octopus at 20-1, but honestly those odds don’t seem good enough. Stick with the Anytime Octopus bet and just cheer for a two-point conversation after every touchdown.
We’ve only seen teams score on their opening drive once since 2021 when both the Eagles and Chiefs did it in the 2023 Super Bowl. Usually it takes awhile for teams to settle in after all the pregame festivities.
Chiefs rookie wideout Xavier Worthy is an absolute speedster and it wouldn’t be surprising to see Kansas City find ways to get him the ball out of the backfield. Worthy has rushed 20 times for 104 yards in the regular season, but he’s broken off runs of more than 20 yards on multiple occasions. At 20-1, it’s a fun risk.
The Chiefs targeted nine different pass catchers in he 2024 Super Bowl, nine in the 2023 Super Bowl and eight in the 2021 Super Bowl. In this current playoff run, Kansas City saw eight different players record a reception against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship. The Chiefs will try their best to spread the ball around. Whether or not those targets are caught is what this bet comes down to.
