Every NFL team has high hopes entering the 2025 season. But for some, major uncertainties stand in the way. From quarterback health to lacking a true RB or receiving option, these franchises have more questions than answers. Here are five teams facing the most scrutiny as Week 1 approaches.

The Cleveland Browns‘ quarterback room is overcrowded, and the team still doesn’t have a legitimate QB1. With Deshaun Watson’s injury struggles, Joe Flacco’s age, and Kenny Pickett’s unproven ability to lead an NFL offense, the Browns may need to turn to rookies Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders. With 5 QBs on the roster, the Browns sure do have a lot of questions that need to be addressed.

After an abysmal 3-14 record last year, the only place the New York Giants can go is up. But the question is, who is the long-term fix at quarterback? The Giants selected Jaxson Dart with the 25th pick in the draft, but also signed 36-year-old Russell Wilson to a one-year contract. The Giants aren’t in win-now mode, so it will be interesting to see who gets more reps at QB and if the Giants focus on Dart’s development.

Who’s the WR1 in Green Bay? The Packers have almost all the pieces needed to be a contender and have found their franchise quarterback in Jordan Love. But what they lack is a clear-cut receiving threat that will be a consistent weapon for Love.

In a similar situation to the Browns, the New Orleans Saints don’t have a locked-down QB1. Currently, the rookie out of Louisville, Tyler Shough, is said to be the likely starter, but his role is by no means guaranteed. With Derek Carr retired, it will be a battle of inexperienced NFL QBs for the starting role in New Orleans.

For the Dallas Cowboys, there is uncertainty about the receiving room, particularly regarding depth behind CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, and there’s a huge question mark about whether Javonte Williams will be the true RB1 that Dallas expects him to be.
