Cincinnati Bengals training camp is officially underway, but one of their best players isn’t even there. Missing in action is the NFL’s reigning sack leader, Trey Hendrickson, who’s enjoying time with his wife, working out in Florida instead of in Cincinnati with his teammates.
Hendrickson and his agent have threatened to not only continue to miss practice but also skip regular season games too. Heading into a contract year, Hendrickson believes it’s past time to get a raise, especially after being a first-team All-Pro.
Already ugly, if this situation continues to spiral out of control, the best resolution may present itself with a trade to a new team. Thus, we look at five teams that could still be eyeing the NFL’s reigning sack leader.

The Atlanta Falcons were aggressive in adding Jalon Walker and James Pearce in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but teams can never have too many pass-rushers. Plus, we can envision scenarios where both rookies plus Trey Hendrickson all share the field at the same time.
Boasting a roster brimming with potential, the Green Bay Packers should be viewed as a prime candidate to trade for more impact players. Trey Hendrickson would certainly help provide a spark to a pass-rush group that ranked 11th in sacks a season ago. He might even help this group become elite.
Maxx Crosby led the Las Vegas Raiders with 7.5 sacks last season. That number should climb once Christian Wilkins returns to the field in 2025. After making significant upgrades on offense, now it’s time for the Raiders to add another weapon on defense too. Hendrickson and Crosby would form the best pass-rushing tandem in football, striking fear in Patrick Mahomes at least twice a year.
Now that Mike Vrabel is back in town, there will be no excuses for the New England Patriots’ defense. While the additions of Milton Williams and Harold Landry should help the front seven improve tremendously, they still don’t quite compare to Trey Hendrickson. Adding the first-team All-Pro would help make this defense an elite group that may be just a piece away.
Like last year, when they ended up with the No. 1 overall pick, this is likely another rebuilding season for the Tennessee Titans. Yet, look at what the Washington Commanders accomplished last season once Jayden Daniels arrived. Can Cam Ward have a similar impact? While he can upgrade the offense, Tennessee needs another defensive cornerstone, and Hendrickson could have a major impact next to Jeffery Simmons, plus T’Vondre Sweat.
