On Sunday afternoon, Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett once again showed why he is one of the best on the planet at what he does. He racked up not one, not two, not three, not four, but five sacks against the New England Patriots. Yet, his performance had hardly any impact on the game as the Browns were still blown out by a score of 32-13.
Cleveland is now 2-6 and headed toward another losing season, likely firing head coach Kevin Stefanski, and making major changes in the offseason. However, if they wanted to speed up their turnaround, they have one big chip to play, and that is to trade Myles Garrett. The six-time Pro Bowler’s value is at an all-time high as he now has 10 sacks after just eight games.
He could be the missing piece for many teams hoping to reach a championship game early next year. With that in mind, let’s look at five potential landing spots if the Browns finally smartened up and tried to trade Myles Garrett before the NFL trade deadline.
The Dallas Cowboys have been linked to some big trade rumors in recent days. After another loss in Week 8, owner/general manager Jerry Jones could get very desperate to improve a defense that has hampered them all season. After getting two first-round picks in the Micah Parsons trade, they would likely be the starting point of a massive package they would offer the Browns to get Garrett this season.
The Chicago Bears have the potential to reach the NFL Playoffs this season. However, their defense is giving up 26 points a game, and they only have four more sacks as a team than Myles Garrett has by himself in 2025. If any team could use a player like him, it’s Chicago. Plus, GM Ryan Poles is under serious pressure to finally get Chicago back to the postseason for the first time since 2020. He could be desperate enough to give up a lot for the sackmaster.
The Philadelphia Eagles have proven time and again that they are willing to make bold in-season trades. While their defense hasn’t been terrible, it is clearly not at a level that will get them back to the Super Bowl this season. But Garrett would fix a lot of their problems with his pure brilliance. Unlike other teams that will offer draft picks in a deal, Philly could place three-time Pro Bowler AJ Brown in a deal. A player Cleveland would absolutely love to have.
The Detroit Lions are again one of the NFC’s elites. While it is mostly due to having one of the best offenses in the NFL, their defense is solid, and they are fifth in the league for sacks. But they need something else. A high-impact player that really makes them a team to fear in the conference. Garrett would be that.
