Minicamps around the NFL are now in the books. Attention will turn toward training camps over time, but recent days have seen a number of notable developments as well. In case you missed any of this week’s top stories, here is a quick recap:
- Simmons Lands Record-Breaking Titans Extension: A new bar has been set with respect to the defensive tackle market. Jeffery Simmons now leads the way thanks to the three-year Titans extension he agreed to on Friday. The four-time Pro Bowler has worked out a pact containing $100MM guaranteed. Its average annual value of $35.27MM per year comfortably surpasses the leading mark previously held by Chris Jones at the DT position. Simmons, 29 next month, has been a defensive stalwart throughout his seven-year Tennessee career. That will continue under new head coach Robert Saleh, with this extension running through 2030.
- Jordan To Remain With Saints In 2026: After a spring filled with uncertainty regarding his future, Cameron Jordan opted to remain with the only NFL team he has played for. The Saints icon has agreed to a one-year deal with New Orleans. 2026 is setting up to be his 16th and final campaign in the league. Jordan considered a short list of alternative destinations before accepting the Saints’ standing offer. The 2010s All-Decade Team member thrived last season with 10.5 sacks, and he will be counted on to remain a key figure on New Orleans’ defense one last time. Jordan will be 37 by the start of the campaign; a return to the playoffs will be the target for team and player as he plays out his final contract.

That move has been followed by Sorsby electing to apply for entry into the NFL’s supplemental draft. Provided he is approved, Sorsby will become a major summer talking point given his status as a highly-regarded quarterback prospect whose evaluation is complicated by his recent rehab stint for a gambling addiction. Teams are, to no surprise, beginning to do their due diligence on the signal-caller who put up impressive numbers during a two-year run at Cincinnati. This is a unique situation, but Sorsby should soon be available for bids this summer as teams weigh the risks of adding him to the fold.
- Jets, Tippmann Agree To Extension: 2026 was set to be the final year of Joe Tippmann‘s rookie contract, but he will not be testing the market. The Jets have inked Tippmann to a four-year extension; he is now set to collect $62MM in base pay and over $34MM in total guarantees as a result. After working at center as a rookie, the former second-rounder shifted to right guard. Tippmann will be expected to remain at that spot for the foreseeable future and continue as one of the more consistent guards in the...
