A total of 11 Kansas City players did not participate in full workouts during Thursday’s voluntary OTA session.

On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs conducted the third session of this week’s voluntary Organized Team Activities (OTAs) at the team’s practice facility on the grounds of the Truman Sports Complex. Our Pete Sweeney was among the media representatives who got another look at the 2025 Chiefs during their ninth Phase 3 practice.

Five players — wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, tight ends Travis Kelce and Tre Watson, offensive lineman Trey Smith and linebacker Drue Tranquill — were all absent from the voluntary session.

Running backs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, wide receiver Hollywood Brown, offensive linemen Ethan Driskell and linebacker Cam Jones were all present on Thursday after being absent last Wednesday, which was the last practice open to reporters.

Players who were present (but whose participation was limited in some way) included Brown, tight ends Jared Wiley and Jake Briningstool, tackle Jalon Moore, cornerback Kristian Fulton and defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah.

Tackle Jawaan Taylor had been limited in previous practices, but was a full participant on Thursday.

As always, we should emphasize that what we observed on Thursday does not allow us to draw any conclusions about player absences (or playing status) for the closed OTA practices that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The team will have one more voluntary OTA session on Friday. It will not be open to the media. The team’s three-day mandatory minicamp will get underway on Tuesday. Reporters will be present for all of those practices.
