5 Chargers 2025 matchups we want to see in primetime
Bolts From The Blue Bolts From The Blue

With the official 2025 schedule release coming up on Wednesday night, here are five matchups for the Chargers we would love to see take place in primetime.

The NFL will officially release the entire 2025 regular season schedule this evening at 5:00 p.m. PT. In recent years, this has been the Super Bowl for the Chargers social media team as they’ve managed to crush it each of the last three years.

While we wait for the release, I went ahead and wrote up five matchups on this year’s schedule that I would LOVE to see take place under the lights in primetime.

Eagles vs. Chargers

Who wouldn’t want to face the reigning champs in primetime? After all, this is not unknown territory for the Chargers who have had plenty of games in recent years against the reigning champs thanks in part to the Chiefs playing in their division.

The Eagles truly have, in my opinion, the best roster in all of football. They’ve hit on so many draft picks year after year that they’ve been a chronic BPA team over the last half decade. They have talented everywhere. Up and down the depth chart. It’s insane to comprehend how they got here but Howie Roseman is just a man possessed when it comes to making the right moves over and over again.

If the Chargers can draw the Eagles in primetime, it could be a defining moment for them this season if they manage to knock off the champs with the whole world watching.

Chargers vs. Jaguars

This will be the first time since the 2022 playoff collapse that the Chargers will face the Jaguars. Jacksonville is coming off a rough season in 2024 and there’s a chance this game has zero stakes attacked to it outside of bragging rights. However, if you are at all still holding onto the outcome of that playoff game, you’ll probably feel at least a little better seeing the Chargers handing them a loss.

At the end of the day, this is still a matchup between two young and talented quarterbacks each with top talent surrounding them. Justin Herbert, Ladd McConkey, and Omarion Hampton on one side against Trevor Lawrence, Brian Thomas Jr., and Travis Hunter on the other.

Texans vs. Chargers

Another potential revenge game stemming from a playoff loss will be on tap for the Chargers this season. After being outmuscled in the wildcard round by a ferocious Texans pass rush, the Jim Harbaugh has since attempted to reinforce the offensive line and ground game to make sure no team has as easy as a time rushing the passer as Houston did in that loss.

Getting the chance to get back at the Texans under the bright lights of primetime would only make it that much more satisfying.

Broncos vs. Chargers

It is always a fun time when the Chargers face any of the AFC West teams in primetime, but this season I think the most intriguing matchups...
