5 Bold Predictions: Giants’ Offense Explodes Against Broncos’ Top-Ranked Defense
Sportsnaut Sportsnaut

The New York Giants (2-4) travel to Colorado to face the Denver Broncos (4-2) on Sunday at Empower Field at Mile High.

Despite entering as a touchdown underdog, the Giants present a legitimate upset threat behind their rookie tandem of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo.

Though not considered a marquee Week 7 matchup, this contest could develop into one of the weekend’s most exciting games. Here are five bold predictions.

Giants Offense Strikes Fast With Three Opening Touchdown Drives

With Dart at the helm, the Giants’ offense has caught fire early in games. In each of his three starts, he’s engineered opening-drive touchdowns. Over the last two games, they’ve scored touchdowns on their first two possessions.

Conventional wisdom suggests this streak ends against Denver’s second-ranked defense. But the rookie quarterback will shock Mile High, scorching the Broncos on three consecutive drives that culminate in touchdowns.

RJ Harvey Breaks Out With First 100-Yard Rushing Game

Denver boasts one of the league’s best ground games, led by J.K. Dobbins and rookie R.J. Harvey. Dobbins leads the team with 442 rushing yards, while Harvey has added 154.

Last week against the New York Jets, the rookie carried just twice for four yards. This week, his workload expands significantly against a Giants defense allowing only 80 rushing yards over the last two weeks. Harvey will shatter that trend, posting the first 100-yard rushing performance of his career.

Jalin Hyatt Finally Finds the End Zone

Jalin Hyatt’s inability to impact Big Blue has been well-documented since the team traded up to select him 73rd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. Through his first two seasons, he managed just 31 receptions for 435 yards with no touchdowns.

He entered Week 6 without a catch but finished the game against the Philadelphia Eagles with three receptions for 17 yards. With Darius Slayton questionable with a hamstring injury, the third-year receiver should see expanded playing time. As Denver’s secondary focuses on Wan’Dale Robinson, Hyatt will break through for the first touchdown of his career.

Evan Engram Haunts Former Team With Two Touchdowns

The Giants selected Evan Engram 23rd overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he remained with the organization through the 2021 season. Though he earned Pro Bowl honors in 2020, the partnership never fully materialized. He left via free agency, signing with Jacksonville in March 2022.

After three seasons with the Jaguars, he joined Denver this past offseason and has 17 receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown. On Sunday, he’ll exact revenge on his former team, hauling in two touchdown passes from Bo Nix.

Pass-Rush Showdown: Burns and Bonitto Both Record Two Sacks

Sunday’s matchup features two of the season’s premier pass rushers: Brian Burns for the Giants and Nik Bonitto for the Broncos. Bonitto leads the league with eight sacks, while Burns ranks third with seven.

Though this game figures to be higher-scoring than anticipated, both edge rushers will wreak havoc. Each will record two sacks in what should...
