The San Francisco 49ers play their first full game without Nick Bosa. They’ll also be without starting cornerback Renardo Green. This will be the biggest test for a defense that has faced Spencer Rattler and a pair of familiar divisional opponents. Trevor Lawrence and Britan Thomas have yet to be on the same page, but you know it’s coming. Jacksonville has also yet to get Travis Hunter, whom they traded up for, going on offense, either.
Kyle Shanahan gets his starting quarterback back under center. Brock Purdy will also have the services of Demarcus Robinson, who was not available the last time Purdy stepped onto the field. San Francisco has advantages in the secondary, especially when Ricky Pearsall lines up against Tyson Campbell — a cornerback prone to giving up the big play.
Today’s game will be about who can hit the most explosive plays. Opportunities will be available for both teams.
