A hamstring injury is expected to sideline George Kittle for multiple weeks, so the 49ers have opted to place him on injured reserve and open up a roster spot, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Kittle will be sidelined for a minimum of four games, making him eligible to return for San Francisco’s Week 6 visit to Tampa Bay. It’s another blow to a 49ers offense that started the season without Brandon Aiyuk (knee, PUP), Demarcus Robinson (suspension), and Jacob Cowing (hamstring, IR with a return designation). Robinson will be eligible to return in Week 4, while Aiyuk and Cowing will be out until at least Week 5.
More to come.
