Technically, Brock Purdy is still one of the biggest bargains in professional sports. The San Francisco 49ers and Brock Purdy are due to agree on a contract extension this offseason, as the quarterback enters the fourth and final year of his rookie deal.
The 49ers have benefited from Purdy’s being the very last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft and thus having one of the cheapest draft contracts money can buy. That is now going to change as he has put them in the Super Bowl and two NFC Championship games.
To help him out, the team might be bringing in a new star wideout.
The San Francisco 49ers parted ways with long-time star wide receiver Deebo Samuel, so they could be looking to fill the hole in their wide receiver room that he left behind.

Davis was recently let go by Jacksonville after he spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Bills. He joined Jacksonville for his age-25 season but struggled through 10 games and injuries, finishing with just 20 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns.
A change of scenery and a new quarterback could be what he needs to return to form.
The 49ers’ interest in Gabe Davis is more than a routine acquisition; it’s a strategic move to elevate their offense after several players left.
Key players who moved on include Deebo Samuel, Dre Greenlaw, Talanoa Hufanga, Charvarius Ward, Aaron Banks, Elijah Mitchell, and Jaylon Moore.
Brock Purdy is about to sign a huge deal, so the team could desperately add talent to help him succeed.
Gabe Davis might have to sign a prove-it deal, and a huge season could net him a big contract for the following offseason.
