The San Francisco 49ers’ first injury report is out ahead of their Week 3 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.
Here’s who is not practicing on Wednesday:
Yetur Gross-Matos (knee)
Kyle Juszczyk (concussion)
OT Spencer Burford (knee)
DB Siran Neal (concussion)
LT Trent Williams (knee/rest day)
WR Jauan Jennings (ankle/shoulder)
RB Christian McCaffrey (calf/rest day)
Edge rusher Nick Bosa (rest day)
And one player will be limited:
QB Brock Purdy (shoulder/toe)
Kyle Shanahan said Purdy is progressing positively, as he wasn’t limited last week, saying, “He does have a chance” to play on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. Shanahan also said there’s a chance Purdy could be the emergency backup quarterback on Sunday.
Shanahan was asked whether Mac Jones’ performance would cause the 49ers not to rush Purdy back from his toe injury. Shanahan said that wouldn’t be the case, and it’s all about how much Purdy can do throughout the week. The team will monitor the progress of Purdy’s toe throughout the week to determine his role for Sunday.
