It will be quite some time before 49ers fans can expect to see Ricky Pearsall in action.

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan provided a couple of injury updates as the team’s OTA practices are underway.

Pearsall tweaked his hamstring. Shanahan said Pearsall likely won’t take part in OTAs or practice in full until training camp begins. Shanahan said he’d be “surprised” if Pearsall participates since there are only two days left.

#49ers HC Kyle Shanahan on whether Ricky Pearsall (tweaked hamstring), will be back by minicamp:

“He could be. But by the time you get to minicamp and there’s just two days left in school, we probably won’t just throw him out there. But he should be healthy by then.”

Jauan Jennings, Demarcus Robinson, and Jacob Cowing were the three top wideouts, with Pearsall sidelined and Brandon Aiyuk out.

Aside from Ricky Pearsall, left tackle Trent Williams hasn’t been at the voluntary sessions, Christian McCaffrey is “as healthy as can be,” and rookie Alfred Collins has a calf injury.

This has been a very tough offseason for the 49ers so far.

Ricky Pearsall is projected to be a starter alongside Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings.

Ricky Pearsall Expected To Have Huge 2025 Season

Coach Kyle Shanahan said that 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall is not participating in the team’s organized team activities and likely won’t return until training camp Thursday, after the 2024 first-round pick tweaked a hamstring in the offseason workouts.

Much is expected of the 24-year-old.

He is expected to have a bigger second season after making 31 catches for 400 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. He was forced to miss the first six weeks of the season on the non-football injury list after being shot in the chest during an attempted robbery.

He did not make his debut until October.

Ricky Pearsall was looking to bounce back after a tough 2024, as he’s set to enter the 2025 season as the team’s WR2 after Brandon Aiyuk remains injured.
