San Francisco 49ers disgruntled wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk really wants to play for the Washington Commanders. He has posted several videos wearing Commanders gear while bashing the 49ers. On Wednesday, he shared another clip, this time praising Washington with a caption.
The 28-year-old wideout shared a video of himself on his Instagram account, this time holding a football with the Commanders logo on it, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. In a caption on the bottom right corner, Aiyuk revealed what he really thinks about the Washington franchise.
“The best sport in the world,” said Aiyuk. “The best league in the world [and] the best team in the world.”

While the five-year veteran wants to play for the Commanders, he is still on the 49ers roster. Although Aiyuk is seemingly not happy about it. His recent antics have made it unclear whether or not Washington wants to acquire him, as Aiyuk has been incredibly vocal about his displeasure with San Francisco.
The 49ers recently voided about $27 million of guaranteed money from Brandon Aiyuk’s contract for the 2026-27 season. Aiyuk has not participated in mandatory contractual obligations while recovering from a severe right knee injury he suffered in the 2024-25 campaign.
Aiyuk is not due to become a free agent until after the 2028-29 season, but the 49ers do have an out on his contract after the 2026-27 campaign. He did not play a single snap last season after opting to sit out and refuse to return from injury. In 69 career games (67 starts), Aiyuk has recorded 294 receptions, 4,305 yards, and 25 touchdowns.
