We are 50 days away from the Kansas City Chiefs‘ season-opening game against the Denver Broncos on “Monday Night Football” in Week 1.
The No. 49 jersey will be worn by second-year tight end Tre Watson this training camp.

While Richardson deserves the top mention for manning a spot in Kansas City’s backfield during some of the franchise’s most significant rushing attacks, safety Daniel “Dirty Dan” Sorensen had too many memorable moments during a magical run to be overlooked.
Whether it was sniffing out the fake punt to further ignite a comeback from down 24-0 in the second quarter of the AFC Divisional round playoff game in the 2019 season, or stuffing running back Derrick Henry in the AFC Championship a week later, Sorensen should always be remembered fondly, even if he played himself into a role bigger than he ever should’ve held by the end of his Chiefs career.
This is simple: let’s see more of these types of plays in the 2026 season. The Chiefs were unable to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in this game, but the play was a rare deep-ball highlight for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the offense.
