4 things we learned from the Broncos incredible comeback win over Giants
Mile High Report Mile High Report

The Denver Broncos played three quarters of woeful football at home against the New York Giants. That all changed once the fourth quarter started. What happened was a four touchdown and a 33 point explosion by the Broncos in one of the franchises greatest regular season comebacks ever. The entire team came together to make every play it needed to make to perform the comeback and if they can figure out how to perform like that in the other 3/4’s of the game, then this team could be a true contender.

Here is what our Mile High Report staff learned from this Week 7 victory:

1. Bo Nix has the clutch gene.

He now has led three straight 4th quarter comebacks. He came back from 14-3 to beat the Eagles on the road, and another 4th quarter vs. the Jets (on the road/London). Yesterday, was the craziest yet as he scored four 4th quarter touchdowns and two 2 point conversions. On top of that, he led the offense down the field with 33 seconds left with no timeouts for the game-winning field goal.

2. The 2025 Broncos have a certain toughness about them.

Yesterday’s miraculous comeback victory proved to me this team is tough. It’s not just a physical football team, but a mentally tough team that can overcome adversity. The odds of the Broncos embarking on such a magical wind were slim and none. Most every other team would have surely acknowledged the reality of a loss. But even down 19-0 entering the fourth quarter, it didn’t seem like the Broncos felt like they were out of it. I’m extremely impressed by the poise of second-year quarterback Bo Nix. While he has struggled early on in games, he has had a penchant for turning things on when it matters it most to help deliver victories. That’s a rare and unteachable trait. – Chris Hart

3. They found their LG while Ben Powers is out.

I learned that the Broncos can win with Palcho as their LG. – Ross Allen

If you had told me that JK Dobbins out-rushed Cam Skattlebo by 21 yards and 2.0 higher yards per carry, I would have said you’re crazy! Expect, that is exactly what happened. Skattlebo finished with 16 carries for 60 yards on the ground for a 3.8 average, while Dobbins picked up 81 yards on 14 carries for a 5.8 average. Somehow, the Broncos were the dominant running team on the day with a 142-119 advantage. Some of that has to be attributed to rolling with Alex Palczewski getting a shot to playing at the guard spot this week. – Tim Lynch

4. The Broncos are learning how to win close games.

The fact the Broncos have won four straight games, with the last three coming on fourth quarter comebacks, is a sign this team is learning how to win. Obviously it starts with Nix, as Scotty pointed out. And the Broncos are...
