Last week, four Kansas City players were signed to deals with new NFL teams.

As NFL teams continue to assemble their 90-man rosters for 2025, a total of four Kansas City Chiefs from the 2024 season have recently been signed to new teams.

RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire

The most familiar is the veteran running back that Kansas City waived from its active roster in mid-December. After he cleared waivers, Edwards-Helaire was then signed to the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad, from which he was elevated to appear in two late-season games, gaining 70 yards on 16 touches. It looks like the Saints liked what they saw in the former first-round pick. On Thursday, they signed him to a Reserve/Futures contract for 2025.

LB Swayze Bozeman

The Chicago Bears signed Bozeman to a Reserve/Futures contract on Friday.

Signed as a UDFA in 2024, the former Mississippi State player spent 2024 on the Chiefs’ practice squad. He was elevated for six games last season: the maximum of three regular-season games and all three playoff games. He spent all but a handful of his snaps on special teams.

CB Nic Jones
WR Montrell Washington

The New York Giants signed both Jones and Washington to Reserve/Futures deals on Friday.

A seventh-round pick out of Ball State in 2023, Jones spent his rookie season on Kansas City’s active roster, appearing in nine regular-season games and all four postseason games — mostly on special teams — before spending 2024 on the practice squad. He appeared in just one 2024 contest.

Washington — a fifth-round pick out of Samford for the Denver Broncos in 2022 — was seen as a solid kick returner when the Chiefs signed him to their practice squad at 2023’s final cutdown. He was activated to the roster for four early-season games (and elevated to the roster for two more) before being elevated for one more game in 2024. He returned eight punts and a pair of kickoffs for Kansas City, collecting a total of 95 yards.
