There’s renewed excitement in the air as Las Vegas Raiders training camp gets underway for the 2025 NFL season. While most teams coming off a 4-13 season wouldn’t have high expectations heading into a new year, that is not true in Vegas, where they have a new head coach, led by Pete Carroll, and a new former Pro Bowl quarterback in Geno Smith.
After having a defense that ranked 25th in points allowed, now the Raiders are making another potentially impactful addition to coordinator Patrick Graham’s group.
According to Fox Sports’ NFL expert Jordan Schultz, the Raiders have signed three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams to a one-year contract.
While Adams had trouble finding a good fit after bouncing around between the Tennessee Titans and Detroit Lions last season, now he’ll get a chance to reunite with his former Seattle Seahawks head coach in Vegas under coach Carroll’s guidance.
Adams is still just 29 years old, but he hasn’t earned an All-Pro selection or a trip to the Pro Bowl since 2020, his first season in Seattle. In other words, he has a lot to prove and a long way to go before he’s guaranteed a roster spot, but he’ll at the very least get a chance to compete for a leader he already believes in.
