The arrow is pointed straight up for the Las Vegas Raiders as a new regime finds its footing. Not only did the Raiders oust an inexperienced head coach, but they also replaced him with former Super Bowl winner Pete Carroll. Plus, the Raiders finally have a franchise quarterback again, and he’s earned two Pro Bowl nods.
Combine youthful superstars like Brock Bowers and possibly Ashton Jeanty too, and it’s not hard to see why many believe the Raiders are in for a much bigger season in 2025 than they enjoyed in 2024.
While the vibes are all positive in Vegas these days, it wasn’t always that way, even recently.
Specifically, Davante Adams didn’t seem to particularly enjoy his time in Vegas, and he recently opened up about his experience. Now teamed back up with Jimmy Garoppolo on the Los Angeles Rams, Adams says his beef was never with Jimmy G. However, Adams did admit to being “miserable‘ during his time with the Raiders.
Remember, Adams initially accepted a trade to Vegas on the premise that he’d get to team up with former college teammate and close friend Derek Carr. That partnership lasted one season before the Raiders ousted the four-time Pro Bowl QB.
Combine that adventure with the fact that Adams’ Raiders went just 13-24 in his brief tenure, and it’s not hard to see why he doesn’t feel too enthused about his time in Vegas. We’ll see if he finds more success out in LA, paired with Matthew Stafford.
