Since being in the public eye, Joy Taylor hasn’t been in a high-profile relationship other than a short-lived marriage.
She was previously married to former professional baseball player Richard Giannotti from 2016 to 2017. There were also rumors that she was engaged to former NBA player Earl Watson, but they did not marry.
Since then, Taylor has essentially been single. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t been dating.
The recently fired Fox Sports host is now speaking out and revealing her dating habits after a clip of her speaking about younger men went viral.
Earlier this year, Joy Taylor revealed on ‘The Truth After Dark’ that she ‘would not date younger than 25, 26.’ She added, ‘Young men are very aggressive and do not care how old I am.’
That video would haunt her for months, which eventually led to her clarifying her position on dating younger men.
In an appearance on the ‘Hot Mics’ show, Joy Taylor made it clear that she is not a cougar.
When ‘Extra’ presenter Billy Bush asked her about the clip, Taylor said, ‘I am never gonna live this down and it is now haunting me… I’ve been dealing with these young men, I’m like – I’m sorry, I just wanna be clear: I’m not dating [25-year-olds].’
‘I made a mistake because no 70-year-olds are calling me,’ she joked before adding, ‘I date men my age, I’m 38… that is who I’m dating.’
Sports commentator Joy Taylor stirred conversation surrounding dating preferences when she shared that she considers men who are “religious” to be a red flag.
“I’m less and less interested in religious men, if I’m being honest with you,” she said.
I’ve had some negative, negative experiences with people that lead with their religion.”
“So I would say I’m a person of faith, but I was raised in a Baptist church, very, very religious family. I don’t think that just because you’re a Christian that you are not living a good life.”
“I’m just saying, if that’s the first thing that you bring to the table, it’s a red flag for me because they’re hiding behind it. I’m acknowledging I’m triggered by this, and it’s become a red flag for me.”
“I’m not saying that if you believe in God, that you are a red flag. I also don’t give a f**k. Just tell somebody else about it. I think for some men, they think that’s what women are looking for, like, looking for a good Christian man. Yeah, and some people are, which is not me.”
Joy Taylor was careful to clarify that she isn’t anti-faith. She was raised in a devout Baptist household and still identifies as a person of faith.
