There have been several challenging moments between the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens in the last quarter-century. Baltimore’s largest margin of victory over Cleveland came in November of 2000, when the Ravens dominated the Browns in a 44-7 blowout. That Baltimore team would go on to win the Super Bowl that season, while Cleveland managed just three total wins. This game serves as a stark reminder of the struggles the Browns have faced in the 21st century since the team returned to Cleveland in 1999.
Between 2008 and 2013, the Ravens completely dominated the rivalry, winning 11 straight matchups. The Browns snapped the losing streak in November of 2013 with a 24-18 victory; however, this six-year run is certainly a low point in franchise history. It only deepened the animosity Cleveland fans feel towards Baltimore.
The most infamous moment in recent memory came in 2015 in a game that ended in heartbreak for Browns fans. With the score tied, Cleveland’s kicker Travis Coons had a 51-yard field goal blocked. Ravens’ Will Hill picked it up and returned it for a touchdown as time expired. The Browns were already having one of their worst seasons in franchise history, but this devastating loss still lingers in the minds of Cleveland fans.
