Behind the Steel Curtain
The Steelers enjoyed a meaningful win on the road Sunday afternoon, defeating the Baltimore Ravens 27-22 to reclaim their AFC North lead. However, head coach Mike Tomlin noted a number of injuries on the Steelers’ side of the ball in his postgame press conference.
“Unfortunately, man, we had a lot of guys go down in the game,” Tomlin said. “But that’s kind of been a component of (Steelers-Ravens), too.”
Tomlin said tight end Darnell Washington, linebacker Malik Harrison, and offensive tackle Andrus Peat all suffered concussions. Each player left the game and didn’t return.
Tomlin also mentioned defensive lineman Keeanu Benton’s ankle injury, noting the defender was able to return to the game.
“Couple other evals, I think they were able to go back, but that’s really kind of indicative of how this game is played, man,” Tomlin added. “Appreciate their efforts.”
Linebacker Patrick Queen left the game with an injury but was able to reappear late, making a critical coverage stop that helped prevent a Baltimore game-winning touchdown.
As always, more information on the Steelers injury report will be made available later in the week on the team’s injury reports. The Steelers’ next game is Monday night against the Dolphins, allowing one extra day or preparation and rest.
