2x Super Bowl champion rips Miami Dolphins, calls coach Mike McDaniel a ‘pushover’

Head coach Mike McDaniel led the Miami Dolphins to the playoffs in their first two seasons together, but more injuries got in the way last season, leading to an 8-9 record. Now the team prepares for a make-or-break season, but some have very low expectations for the year ahead.

Specifically, two-time Super Bowl champion and the father of Asante Samuel Jr is speaking out against the Dolphins with some extremely harsh criticism.

Asante Samuel had several complaints about the Dolphins, calling them a “sensitive” group with no leadership in the organization. He even targeted coach McDaniel, calling him a “pushover.”

He didn’t stop there. Later, he said general manager Chris Grier has “no backbone.”

In closing, Samuel said, “They’re running this team like a Little League team.”

We’re not sure why Samuel has such pointed criticisms against the Dolphins, but it’s safe to say he won’t want his son signing with them any time soon. That could be relevant considering Samuel Jr is currently working his way back from neck surgery.

Making the matter even more interesting is the report from the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson, who indicates the Dolphins have already reached out to Samuel Jr to gauge his interest in joining the team after trading Jalen Ramsey. If he shares a similar opinion as his dad, we’re guessing those conversations didn’t go the way Miami hoped.
