With the Pittsburgh Steelers in the market for a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft, Steelers Now will be taking stock of the draft class every week of the 2025 college football season. Week six saw some prospects continue to perform while others might have pushed their stock out of 2026.

STOCK UP: Carson Beck, Miami
While Beck may not be a unanimous first-round prospect yet, he is showing what he can do each and every week since transferring from UGA. After a “meh” week against Florida, Miami’s offense came out of the bye week firing on all cylinders. Of all places, they went into the suddenly competitive Florida State’s home and had their way for most of the game.
Beck led the way in one of college football’s toughest environments. He threw a season high four touchdowns en route to a victory over the Seminoles. Not only has Beck now been a part of three victories over ranked opponents, has it doing it coming off a major arm injury last year.
Not only is his performance turning heads in 2025, his two years of experience at Georgia only helps his stock. He played against the SEC’s best teams routinely. Now, with his team’s “toughest” stretch possibly now in the rearview mirror, his next big test could come in postseason play.
MDDB Ranking: Week 6, No. 80, QB8
Season Stats: 102-of-139 (73.4% comp. rate), 1212 yards (8.7 yards/attempt) 11 TD, 3 INT
STOCK DOWN: Eli Holstein, Pittsburgh
Holstein arrived in 2025 with an opportunity to not only lead Pitt to higher levels but also establish a name for himself. Unfortunately, it hasn’t panned out that way.
After an underwhelming start to the season, Holstein crumbled to Pitt’s hated rival in the Backyard Brawl. The Panthers’ head coach decided to move on this week.
While Holstein has a chance to transfer elsewhere, 2026’s draft stock likely is off the table. There’s little chance he will declare, and he is likely to aim for finding an investor for his 2027 stock.
MDDB Ranking: Week 6, No. 238, QB17
Season Stats: 72-of-114 (63.2% comp. rate), 1050 yards (9.2 yards/attempt), 11 TD, 5 INT
STOCK UP: Cade Klubnik, Clemson
FINALLY. Klubnik and the Tigers put together a complete game. It might’ve been against a sub-par UNC team, but at this point, they will take it.

Klubnik’s 2025 season has been miserable to this point. However, he finally showed flashes of why he was considered a preseason first-round prospect. He led Clemson to a 38-10 victory where he threw twice as many touchdowns (four) than he did incompletions (two).
It might’ve been just a matter...
