STOCK UP: Ty Simpson, Alabama
If not for Fernando Mendoza, Simpson likely would be the hottest stock available. If you aren’t impressed by this game, I’m not sure what to tell you.

Any other average QB wouldn’t have the mental toughness and drive to get beat up in Auburn, then thrashed by Georgia, and then face a 17-point deficit… and somehow grind out a win. Make no mistake, Simpson is proving to be among the cream of the crop.
He will have a lot of decisions to consider come January. For now… The stock is soaring.

The hand injury was highlighted throughout the pregame coverage. Notably, before the surgery, he was throwing for over 300 yards per game. Afterwards? Things dipped down to under 200 yards per game.
Mateer played his best game in weeks–maybe even since his hand surgery. He threw for over 300 yards, accounted for all three of the Sooners touchdowns, and had Alabama on the ropes early.
Unfortunately, a costly turnover and a resurgent Simpson-led Crimson Tide offense overcame the 17 point deficit. While signs point to Mateer returning to school… Did he do enough to declare for the draft?

STOCK DOWN: Carson Beck, Miami (FL)
It wasn’t an awful game. It wasn’t certainly a good one, either, for Beck. He completed 70% of his throws, but only 5.2 yards per attempt. He did enough to win.
By enough, he simply didn’t need to turn the ball over. The ground attack led the way most of the day for Miami, but Beck wants to help his stock… he might need bigger performances.
For now, the stock is slightly down for Beck.

Trinidad Chambliss has 318 more passing yards than Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza despite playing fewer games and starting the season as the backup.

Chances are Chambliss isn’t declaring for the NFL draft. Heck, if you’re a betting man, bet he will return to school in 2026 (don’t take my advice to heart). However, Chambliss and company had the Rebels not missing Lane Kiffin on Saturday.
