Blogging The Boys
The Dallas Cowboys are on the road for their season finale and will play the New York Giants before closing up shop on another year. It has been a few weeks since Dallas was eliminated from playoff contention, even longer from the Giants side of things, so this game is merely a formality on many levels.
Of course, there are definitely certain things on the line. You can argue that playing for pride is something to consider, plus the Cowboys (7-8-1) have noted that they want to avoid a losing season (as in finishing below. 500). You can debate the merits of that, but those things are what is technically happening around the group.
It is also worth mentioning that you never know what an offseason can bring and that players like George Pickens and Javonte Williams are currently playing the last game on their contracts with the team. Will they ever be on a field with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb again? Time will tell.
Below is our story stream for all of the action.
The Giants are likely going to want to lose this game to ensure proper draft capital which would extend Dallas’ streak of domination over them in the Dak Prescott era, albeit under some hollow circumstances.
Kickoff is set for 1pm ET on Sunday, January 4th.
