2025 NFL Week 17 Power Rankings: Cowboys fall after being eliminated
Blogging The Boys Blogging The Boys

The Dallas Cowboys were officially eliminated from playoff contention on Saturday evening and played exactly like such was the case a day later. Times are tough as Santa prepares to bring us all toys and trinkets.

Their Super Bowl and/or NFC Championship Game drought is now officially going to hit 30 years of life which means that the national narrative around them is going to continue to be what it is. It is up to some team in the future to change all of that, but until they do the conversation will continue to be what it has been for some time now.

Welcome to the penultimate edition of our power rankings here at Blogging The Boys where we sort every team in the NFL and collect how outlets across the internet view the Cowboys.

Let’s begin.

1 – Seattle Seahawks (LW: 2)

Last Thursday night was amazing. They deserve all of the props.

2 – Los Angeles Rams (LW: 1)

What if we just re-do that game in the NFC Championship?

3 – Buffalo Bills (LW: 4)

The Bills are going to be sick if they don’t emerge from the AFC this year with the usual suspects out of the picture. The time is now.

4 – New England Patriots (LW: 5)

It would be particularly cruel if Buffalo didn’t get there because of a revitalized Patriots team of all groups.

5 – San Francisco 49ers (LW: 7)

It feels like we forgot that this team was very, very good. I think we all remembe rnow.

6 – Chicago Bears (LW: 6)

Perhaps the Bears will find a way, though. Caleb Williams is really finding himself and they are going to be a tough out.

7 – Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 9)

The Jaguars are also making an impressive name for themselves and have one of the season’s most impressive victories overall with what they did in Denver. Good for Jourdan Lewis!

8 – Denver Broncos (LW: 3)

The winning streak had to end. It is going to be a long week of fighting the allegations that they are a paper tiger.

9 – Houston Texans (LW: 8)

It feels inevitable that their offense is going to let them down, but their defense may be good enough for it to not matter.

10 – Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 10)

Are they really outstanding? Or did they just play the Cowboys?

11 – Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 13)

They broke the NFC East curse. Good for them. Or whatever.

12 – Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 12)

There is no way that I am going to believe in this team, but they do appear to believe in themselves.

13 – Detroit Lions (LW: 14)

It looks to be over here.

14 – Carolina Panthers (LW: 15)

They may well win their division, but they look like the division winner you want to draw in the Wild Card Round.

15 – Green Bay Packers (LW: 11)

Pile up the losses! Help the draft pick!...
