The Dallas Cowboys are set to visit the Washington Commanders on Christmas Day, the penultimate game of the season for both teams. Christmas is on a Thursday here in 2025 and it marks the fourth game that Dallas will have played on a Thursday specifically. There truly is no rest for the weary in the NFL.
As noted, the Cowboys and Commanders are both aware that their seasons have expiration dates in the near future. Washington has been in some self-preservation mode for a bit now as they already shut down Jayden Daniels on the season. It remains to be seen if the Cowboys will do that with any of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens (who is in a contract year and therefore in a unique situation), Quinnen Williams (who missed the Chargers game), or anyone else. These types of games are always strange in this respect.
