2025 NFL schedule: Way-to-early game-by-game win/loss predictions for Cowboys

Brian Schottenheimer will face a lot of tough tests in his first year as Dallas' head coach.

The NFL schedule-makers didn't make Brian Schottenheimer's job any easier in his first-year as the Dallas Cowboys new head coach. Not only do they have to start the 2025 season off against their division rival and defending Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles, but they also have a brutal six-game stretch in November/December against teams who all made the playoffs last season.

If the Cowboys can remain healthy all season, this is a team talented enough to compete with the best of the best in the league and make a deep playoff run. But, they're going to have to do a much better job winning games at home than they did in 2024 and learn to cut down on the penalties. If they can come accomplish that it's entirely possible they win double-digit games this season.

With all of that in mind, we attempted to predict the Dallas Cowboys win/loss record for the 2025 season. We had them fishing with a 10-7 regular-season record, but also believe there are few games in there that could go either way.

Week 1: Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles

Thursday, September 4 (8:20 PM NBC)

The Brian Schottenheimer era in Dallas kicks off on the road against the defending Super Bowl champions and division rival Eagles, who will be hoisting their second SB banner in front of their fans in the season opener. This game heavily favors the hometown team.

Eagles 31, Cowboys 24 (0-1)

Week 2: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants

Sunday, September 14 (1 PM FOX)

Dallas hosts the Giants at AT&T Stadium in their home opener, a team they've beaten in eight consecutive games. Dak Prescott also has a 13-game win streak on the line against NYG. Home field advantage is in their favor, even though they struggled at home in 2024.

Cowboys 24, Giants 10 (1-1)

Week 3: Dallas Cowboys @ Chicago Bears

Sunday, September 21 (4:25 PM FOX)

Cowboys new DC Matt Eberflus returns to Chicago to face his former team under new HC Ben Johnson. This will also be the first time they've faced second-year QB Caleb Williams. The Bears aren't talent deprived, but also aren't on Dallas' level just yet.

Cowboys 27, Bears 13 (2-1)

Week 4: Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers

Sunday, September 28 (8:20 PM NBC)

The Cowboys have lost five consecutive games, including the playoffs, against the Packers and haven't beaten them since 2016. This game shapes up to be a shootout between Dak Prescott and Jordan Love. Whichever QB makes less mistakes likely earns the "W".

Packers 34, Cowboys 31 (2-2)

Week 5: Dallas Cowboys @ New York Jets

Sunday, October 5 (1 PM FOX)

Dallas heads to NY for the second time in 2025 to play the Jets under new HC Aaron Glenn. NYJ should be a better team under Glenn's guidance, but...
