2025 NFL Draft Target Preview: Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall
Bolts From The Blue Bolts From The Blue

With the Chargers desperately needing some youth at edge rusher could the young stud from Marshall fill the gaps

The Jim Harbaugh era of the Los Angeles Chargers have been built on the interior, and given the message Harbaugh sent by allowing two receivers out the door to maintain their edge presence with Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack, it’s clearly a priority to maintain a consistent talent level at the position. In a class loaded with edge rushers the Chargers may look to take one of it’s top producers at the college level in Marshall’s Mike Green.

Green was an absolute dynamo on the defensive side of the ball for Marshall last season, accounting for a whopping 17 sacks and 3 forced fumbles. Green was unstoppable off the edge and boasts a quick get off that ramps into power to throw offensive lineman off balance. Green is fundamentally sound and has the skillset needed to become a top sack producer at the next level. With the Chargers potentially losing both Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack heading into 2025, they could use another young stud to pair with 2023 second round pick Tuli Tuipulotu. Should the Chargers move off of franchise staple and often injured veteran Joey Bosa, the need at edge rusher will become an immediate priority and could make sense for the team to address it early on in the first round. If Green replicates even a portion of his numbers at Marshall he could quickly become the solution at the edge position.

Do you think the Chargers should chase after a pass rusher in the first round?
