Could the Chargers once again look to invest on their offensive line early in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Jim Harbaugh hasn’t exactly made it a secret that securing talent along the offensive line to try and emphasize smash mouth football has been a top priority for the regime. Last year the Los Angeles Chargers took a slam dunk in tackle Joe Alt who helped secure bookend tackles for the team for the immediate future, and this year the team could look to secure the interior of that offensive line in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Donovan Jackson was one of the key pieces on the National Champion Ohio State team and a big reason they had one of the most dominant offenses in all of college football. Jackson was the key driver of the most dangerous running back duo at the collegiate level and showed a lot of versatility as a fill in at left tackle later in the season. Jackson has ideal size and athleticism to come in and star right away at guard and has the experience to potentially fill in at tackle at the NFL level as well.
The Chargers’ interior offensive line underperformed compared to the two anchor tackles on the outside and it would be a big boost to a team that really wants to establish the rushing attack if they are able to land one of the top interior offensive lineman in Jackson. There is little doubt Jackson would be a day one starter and important piece in an offense that needs to compete with some of the best offenses the league has to offer.
Do you think the Chargers should address their interior offensive line in the first round?
