What does everybody think?

With the first pick of the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, #139 overall, the Minnesota Vikings turned to the defensive side of the ball with the selection of Georgia defensive lineman Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins.

Dawkins is a big guy, checking in at 6’5” and 280 pounds. He also appears to have a lot of athletic ability, as was evidenced by his scores from this year’s NFL Scouting Combine.

I can definitely think of worse ways to use a mid-round draft pick than 1) taking a defensive player from Georgia, given the quality of the players they seem to turn out, and 2) giving Brian Flores someone with this sort of ridiculous athleticism to mold. I hate to throw comparisons to Danielle Hunter out there, but the size/speed combination sort of looks the same from where I sit, and if anyone can help him reach his potential, it’s Minnesota’s defensive coordinator.

Also, he’s got a cool name, which checks another box in his favor.
