2025 College football: Draft prospects for the Giants in Week 6
Big Blue View Big Blue View

Good morning New York Giants fans! Happy Saturday and welcome to Week 6 of the 2025 college football season.

We have an interesting slate of games on offer this week, and are taking the opportunity to check in on some powerhouse schools who’ve fallen off this year, some surprising teams in the ACC, as well as a couple schools who haven’t gotten much attention but have some very intriguing prospects.

College football has already been incredibly chaotic this year, with top schools losing to unranked opponents, while overlooked programs are in contention for the College Football Playoffs.

I can’t wait to see what what today brings.

(20) Michigan vs. Wisconsin

Fox – Noon

We’re starting off our Saturday by checking in on a pair of college football blue bloods who’ve fallen off in a chaotic season. There is still, however talent to be found on both sidelines, particularly on the Michigan defense.

The Giants will likely be paying attention to safety Rod Moore as well as LB/Edge Jaishawn Barham. The Giants could have a need at safety if Dane Belton moves on, while Barham could be an interesting mid-round pickup. Barham was primarily an off-ball linebacker the previous two years, but has been splitting time more evenly at linebacker and edge this year.

Wisconsin center Jake Renfro was one of the top centers in college football last year, but elected to return to school. He should be on the Giants’ radar, but he’s also listed as “questionable” as of this writing.

Players to watch

(20) Michigan

  • Justice Haynes (RB – 22)
  • Derrick Moore (EDGE – 8)
  • T.J. Guy (EDGE – 4)
  • Jaishawn Barham (LB/EDGE – 1)
  • Rod Moore (S – 19)

Wisconsin

  • Jake Renfro (OC – 57) *questionable
  • Riley Mahlman (OT – 71)
  • Vinny Anthony II (WR – 8)
  • Austin Brown (S – 9)

Louisville vs. (24) Virginia

ESPN2 – 3:30 p.m.

We’re going to take a look at a couple teams who tend to slide below the radar in our afternoon slot.

Virginia has been playing well enough to be ranked, though they come into the game with a lengthy injury report. Unfortunately, they lost left tackle Monroe Mills for the season (torn ACL) back in April, shortly after he transferred from Louisville. However, the Cavaliers do still have running J’mari Taylor, who’s been one of the best runners in the country through five games. He has four carries over 15 yards and 7 touchdowns on 75 carries so far this year.

Louisville has some interesting prospects who could be real factors on the second day of the draft. QB Miller Moss was considered a potential top prospect when he was at USC, but has fallen off the national radar since transferring to Louisville. The Giants, meanwhile, probably should be paying attention to wide receiver Chris Bell. The 6-foot-2, 227-pound wideout is a smart, savvy route runner with good explosiveness and great physicality after the catch. He’s...
