Putting a bow on the Jaguars’ 2024 NFL season.

To put a bow on the 2024-25 NFL season, we’re asking Jacksonville Jaguars fans for their picks on typical season-long awards — MVP, Defensive Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, etc.

The league’s official awards will be announced at the 14th annual NFL Honors event on Feb. 6.

First up: Most Valuable Player.

I voted for Brian Thomas Jr., the 23rd overall pick of last year’s draft. He broke Jacksonville’s rookie records for receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns, and he became the first rookie to record eight games of 60-plus yards and a touchdown since Randy Moss.

Thomas Jr. finished the 2024 season with 1,282 receiving yards; only fellow LSU products Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson had more. “BT” was named a finalist for the NFL’s 2024 Offensive Player of the Year, though he’s unlikely to receive more votes than his college quarterback, Jayden Daniels.

A better question may be “Who was the Jaguars’ most valuable player not named Brian?” but we’ll get to Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and more in the coming days.
