The Niners beat the Bears in a Sunday night thriller, keeping the Eagles alive for the #2 seed at 11-5:

Pretty simple scenario. The main problem is that the Lions are eliminated and have nothing to play for. If both the Eagles and Bears win, they each finish 12-5 and Chicago takes the head-to-head tiebreaker. That would give the Bears a first-round home game against the #7 seed Packers.

The Birds as a #3 seed would play one of the Wild Card teams from the NFC West. The Rams can’t win the division, but the 12-4 Niners play the 13-3 Seahawks for the #1 seed on primetime.

The question this week will be whether or not the Eagles play the starters against Washington. The Commanders are banged up and stink to begin with, while the Birds’ backups are good enough to win at home, but considering the way the first-team offense played in the second half in Buffalo, you’ll probably come across a number of fans/media who would like to see them back out there. The flipside is injury risk, of course.
