Three adults have been charged following a fatal ATV crash in which two high school football players lost their lives.

Three adults have been charged following the deaths as they are said to have aided the purchase of alcohol for the underaged kids.

Trio Of Adults Blamed For Fatal ATV Crash

According to WLOS, 35-year-old Ashley Marie Darity has been charged with two counts of manslaughter, while Patricia Whitehead, 33, and Brandon Rathbone, 47, are also facing charges. Whitehead is facing two counts of aiding an underage purchase of alcohol, and Rathbone has been hit with one count of the same charge.

Records show that Whitehead and Rathbone supplied the juveniles with alcohol and hosted an underage house party. They are also said to have held a female juvenile up while she performed a keg stand.

Samantha Jones, the mother of Layne Jones, expressed relief at having found a measure of closure.

“After six months of not really knowing and not understanding really what happened, it kind of comes as a little bit of a relief to get some kind of answers,” she told WLOS. “It’s very appalling that adults would give children alcohol[…] It’s very devastating. It’s a mother’s worst nightmare.”
