After the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX, one would assume that not much has to change going into next season if they are to defend the title.

But with Kellen Moore leaving to become head coach of the New Orleans Saints, the Eagles have a new offensive coordinator in Kevin Patullo, who was their passing game coordinator dating back to the 2021 season.

Star wide receiver A.J. Brown recently went beyond saying the Eagles need to continue to evolve on offense.

“For our fans, they need to understand everything has to change,” Brown said, via NFL Network. “I know we just won, but it has to change. We have to get better, and we have to do things different.”

Philadelphia has gotten the job done over the past three seasons with a run-heavy offense, and this season, it rode star running back Saquon Barkley, who put up 2,005 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns in the regular season while winning NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

But the Eagles do have one of the NFL’s best one-two punches at wide receiver in Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Despite missing four games, Brown managed to catch 67 passes for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns, and Smith also played 13 games and registered 68 catches, 833 yards and eight touchdowns.

Jalen Hurts has shown some growth as a passer, and one has to wonder if one of the changes Brown mentioned could be opening up the offense and allowing the quarterback to fling the ball downfield more often.
