The Pittsburgh Steelers inked edge rusher Nick Herbig to a four-year, $100 million contract extension on Tuesday, and they have wasted no time working toward another deal done with another former Wisconsin Badger.

Per Alan Saunders of Steelers Now, Pittsburgh and defensive tackle Keeanu Benton are beginning to work out a new deal.

“The Steelers are working toward a new deal with DT Keeanu Benton, per source,” Saunders posted on X. “Nothing necessarily imminent, but it’s in the works. His agent, Joe DiBenedetto, who he shares with Nick Herbig, was at the team’s facility today.”

For much of the offseason, questions have surrounded New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and what his future with the organization holds.

Those questions grew louder in recent weeks as speculation continued regarding whether Kamara would remain with the Saints or be released/traded. However, the veteran running back helped quiet some of that noise this week with a surprise appearance at week two of Saints OTAs.

Washington went all-in on their defensive line in late 2010s, taking one in the first round of four consecutive NFL drafts.

Jonathan Allen came in 2017. Daron Payne was taken in 2018, with Montez Sweat in 2019 and Chase Young in 2020.

Young was traded to San Francisco. Sweat was dealt to Chicago before getting paid. Allen spent eight seasons in Washington and got one big-time contract extension but ended up getting released after a trade request didn’t pan out. He was in Minnesota for the 2025 campaign and will play for Cincinnati in 2026....

The Philadelphia Eagles signed LB Chandler Martin on Wednesday, per the NFL Transactions wire.

Martin, 23, wound up going undrafted out of Memphis last year. He later signed a three-year, $3 million contract with the Ravens.

Baltimore opted to waive Martin coming out of the preseason and he was later signed to their practice squad. He was on and off of the active roster until catching on with the Eagles in March. Philadelphia cut him loose earlier this week, making this his second stint this offseason.

In 2025, Martin appeared in three games for the Ravens and recorded five tackles....

The Dallas Cowboys officially signed WR Jaden Smith, per the NFL’s Official Transaction Wire.

Smith, 24, signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Nevada in July 2025. He was waived with an injury designation after camp and spent the season on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.

The Buccaneers signed him in July of last year and waived him with an injury designation during training camp. After spending 2025 on injured reserve, Tampa Bay cut him loose in April.

Smith has yet to appear in an NFL game.

New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh said on Wednesday that defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris, who suffered a torn Achilles tendon during the first week of OTAs, could return near the end of the season.

The Giants have not placed Robertson-Harris on IR, which would end his season.

“There’s a chance Roy could get back actually,” Harbaugh said. “With Roy’s situation time-frame wise there’s a chance he could get back late in the season so we’re going to try to hold off on that if we can.”

Ever since the Los Angeles Rams traded for Myles Garrett on Monday, Aaron Donald rumors have been running wild. It didn’t help that the future first-ballot Hall of Fame defensive tackle has since been pouring fuel on the fire by admitting that the Rams’ adding the NFL’s best defender has given him consideration to end his retirement at the age of 35.

PITTSBURGH — With the ink not even dry on Nick Herbig’s contract extension, Pittsburgh Steelers “are working” on a contract extension with defensive tackle Keeanu Benton, a source told Steelers Now on Wednesday.
