After four good to very good seasons, Matt Ryan took a sizable leap into the upper echelon in 2012. The offense was fully in his control with Dirk Koetter taking over the reins as offensive coordinator. Not operating in a run-first offense anymore helped him throw over 30 touchdowns for the first time in his career. He was in the MVP conversation for most of the season. It was clear he established himself as a top-tier quarterback.
The Falcons had another outstanding regular season as the top team in the NFC. Winning their first eight games made them feel more...

“Opportunity” was a common word used as New England Patriots defensive tackle Cory Durden fielded questions from the media following the team’s OTAs practice on Tuesday.
Durden, 27, has a chance to take on a larger role along the defensive front in 2026 after former Patriots nose tackle Khyiris Tonga left in free agency to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs. His projected replacement sees the vacated spot as an opportunity to take another step in his career, saying, “The sky is the limit.”
“Last year, I learned I’m a good pro,” Durden continued. “I have the ability to be...

Brendan Sorsby was supposed to be the next quarterback at Texas Tech. After making the College Football Playoff but losing their first game to Oregon, the Red Raiders targeted Cincinnati transfer and second-team All-Big 12 member Sorsby to be their next quarterback. Originally a three-star recruit from Texas, Sorsby began his collegiate career at Indiana, redshirting in 2022 before putting together a promising debut season for the Hoosiers.
Sorsby transferred to Cincinnati in 2024, earning honorable mention All-Big 12 recognition with 2,813 passing yards and 18 touchdowns to seven interceptions, completing 64.0 percent of his passes and adding 447 rushing...

Among the celebrities at the New York Knicks’ NBA Finals Game 1 win were Giants teammates Jaxson Dart and Brian Burns, who traveled to San Antonio to watch the game with comic Pete Davidson.
They shared a luxury suite together, and they were all hyped after the Knicks’ thrilling win. The second-year quarterback posted a video on his Instagram Stories of their reactions to the win.

Many Detroit Lions fans are eager to see what Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard has up his sleeve in his second year as the team’s defensive coordinator. After a frustrating season that started out so promisingly, the Lions defense needs to take a big jump in 2026. Some have suggested Detroit is in need of a schematic overhaul, while others believe a tweak to the existing system would be sufficient.
While we don’t yet know what’s in store for the Lions defense this upcoming season, Sheppard joined Fox 2 Detroit’s “Sports Office” show, and dropped a pretty interesting tidbit...

The Buffalo Bills love versatile offensive linemen. Especially when they intend for a player to be a reserve, it’s not uncommon for the team to have players cross-train at different positions up front. When they add veterans for depth, they often search for players with experience at multiple positions along the offensive line, and when they draft players or sign them as undrafted free agents, they often project players at positions that don’t match their college output.
In today’s edition of “91 players in 91 days,” we discuss one such rookie offensive lineman. While he played tackle for much of...

After having arguably the best offseason in history, the Cincinnati Bengals are primed for a big season.
But is this an all-or-nothing year for Cincinnati?
There were several key players who were outspoken about how the team needed to improve, though it was pretty obvious. The defense needed a lot of help, and that’s an understatement.
At the end of the season, many thought that star defender Trey Hendrickson would be franchise tagged or re-signed. No one thought he’d end up in a Ravens uniform, but that’s exactly what played out.
And thankfully, Cincinnnati actually made it work out.
The...

The Cowboys ranked 15th in receiver-error incompletions, showing their issue was more about execution than passing volume, and I don’t think the receiver-error ranking explains why they missed the playoffs.
We already know what did that.
The defense was the problem. Dallas gave up too many points, got stuck in too many shootouts, and it forced the offense to play uphill almost every week. That isn’t me letting the offense off the hook, it’s just what the season looked like.
This receiver-error stat is still worth talking about because it brings up a fair question.
Does passing volume make this...
Player: OLB Alex Highsmith Stock Value: Down Reasoning: While nothing may ultimately come of it, Nick Herbig’s extension at least puts moving Alex Highsmith on the table. And it doesn’t even have to be this year; it could just as easily be next year—more easily, actually. The same could apply to T.J. Watt, but for now, […]

One player that Dallas could have added to their defense apparently isn’t going anywhere.
The Dallas Cowboys like to say talent acquisition is a year-round business. But the truth is they’re running out of chances to land difference-makers to the team. And the latest report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport confirms a potential target is now off the table.
