The San Francisco 49ers situation with disgruntled wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has continued throughout the offseason, with the wideout making several statements on social media against his current team as he remains under contract.
Things have been downhill between the two sides after Aiyuk signed a major four-year extension back in the 2024 offseason. The star wideout tore his ACL and MCL during the 2024 offseason, then had the guarantees in his contract last offseason voided after electing not to report for rehab.
Aiyuk did not play the entire 2025 season, and it’s clear he will not return to the...

The San Francisco 49ers are expecting big things from Mike Evans this season. He’ll be Brock Purdy’s go-to target and open things up for everyone else on offense. He should allow George Kittle to take his time returning from an Achilles injury, as well as make life easier on Ricky Pearsall. That’s expected.
Several other free agents on the roster could make meaningful contributions. But to what degree?
Will Christian Kirk stay healthy enough to add a speed dimension on offense?
Will Vederian Lowe save the day at tackle if Trent Williams misses time? Robert Jones and Bret Toth joined...

We had you put on your general manager hats on Tuesday in the feed. John Lynch is out, and you are now running the San Francisco 49ers. Let’s look at a bunch of the answers.
Feel free to go back to the feed and drop your answer in there if you haven’t.
Let’s start with SeppoAussieNiner, who is thinking what most of us are:
Keep it simple and go out and get Jadeveon Clowney: The ultimate late-summer mercenary is coming off an efficient season with the Cowpaddies where his 19.1% pressure rate trailed only Micah Parsons and Will Anderson...

We are asking about the running backs this week, but not Christian McCaffrey. San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan hasn’t been subtle about acknowledging the need to use more backs moving forward. The team drafted Kaelon Black in the third round, but don’t forget about Jordan James from last season.
James has a lot of Devonta Freeman in him. Not...

With training camp for the San Francisco 49ers beginning next month, the race for a spot on the 53-man roster will begin. For the 49ers, aside from a few spots, their starting defense and offense are set with multiple players returning from injury. Left guard and one spot on the defensive line in base downs come right to mind as available spots with the chance of a change at safety. With that in mind, which are the deepest and thinnest position groups for the 49ers?
Deepest: Quarterback
This answer feels like a cop out; however, the combination of Brock Purdy...

ESPN handed out offseason grades for every NFL team, evaluating each move. The San Francisco 49ers were tied for one of the highest-graded offseasons, giving Trent Williams a new contract, signing Mike Evans, and trading for Osa Odighizuwa:
Biggest move: Signing LT Trent Williams to a new contract
Move I liked: Signing WR Mike Evans
Move I disliked: Drafting WR De’Zhaun Stribling with the first pick in Round 2The Seahawks are fresh off a Super Bowl victory, and the Rams spent the offseason loading up for another run. But...

It was evident that Dominick Puni wasn’t the same player to begin the 2025 season for the San Francisco 49ers. Puni suffered a PCL injury in August that hampered him through the first month and a half of the regular season.
Per Sports Info Solutions, Puni had 21 blown blocks in the first seven games of the season. He had three apiece in the first two games. From Weeks 4 through 6, he had four in each game. He couldn’t move, and it played out like that.
From Week 8 on, Puni only had one game with more than three...

Picking which player from the San Francisco 49ers defense will lead the team in interceptions is as close to playing roulette as it gets. You could put together a strong case for a handful of names, which is why our poll results were as close as they were.
We gave you six options: the starting secondary and Fred Warner. Unsurprisingly, the starting safeties, Malik Mustapha and Ji’Ayir Brown, received the fewest votes. Neither has shown a knack for being a ballhawk in the pros. In fairness, that sentence would stand for everybody except Warner.
But the majority didn’t vote for...

The NFC West has quickly become the talk of the NFL once again, as the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers both made moves this offseason to compete with the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
Los Angeles went all out with trades for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie and Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett, while making a few other moves in free agency to shore up holes.
The 49ers added help at wide receiver and linebacker, while not losing much talent in free agency, and they should get a couple of their stars back from injury.

The San Francisco 49ers’ pass rush was at the bottom of the barrel last year. The head of the snake, Nick Bosa, went down with an injury early in the season, and so did the rest of the production.
Bryce Huff’s hot start alongside Bosa cooled. He still generated pressure, but couldn’t convert that into sacks. The rookies looked like rookies. Alfred Collins made a couple of splash plays. CJ West was a net positive against the run. Mykel Williams was a difference-maker as a run defender. But all three went long stretches during games without being noticeable. Again, they...

On paper, the San Francisco 49ers have had one of the best supporting casts for the past three or four years. But the games are played on a football field, which means you have to stay healthy for the duration of the season.
ESPN’s Bill Barnwell went through each team’s supporting cast and ranked them. Heading into 2024, the 49ers were first. Fresh off what they did in 2023, how could you not rank them that high?
Christian McCaffrey went from allegedly being ready for Week 1 to only playing four games all season. Brandon Aiyuk tore his ACL. Deebo...

Young 49ers wide receiver turned heads at OTAs
“He has a lot of juice, and he can add a lot to this team,” Evans said. “The speed down the field, the quickness. He’s having a few really good weeks, and he’s made a lot of plays.”
49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk terminated agreement with agent this weekend
“Mike Florio reported that Aiyuk’s SRA remained active as of Friday night. It was officially terminated on Saturday, and NFLPA records now list the wide receiver as unrepresented.”
**[Brandon Aiyuk says he will not report to 49ers training camp: ‘I don’t care how long I...
