A look at how the draft is impacting the Patriots’ 90-man roster.

The NFL Draft has arrived, and the New England Patriots were entering it with 71 players on their active roster. This originally left 19 spots to be filled by draft selections, of which the team originally had eight, as well as rookie free agent signings.

Needless to say, substantial change was coming from the first round on Thursday night on. In order not to get lost, and to find out where the new players fit onto the roster, please make sure to regularly revisit this regularly updated Patriots depth chart.

The Patriots’ biggest holes on the roster were at quarterback, left tackle, and outside wide receiver. The expectation was that all three of those positions would be addressed early in the draft, with the QB spot the first domino to fall: New England selected North Carolina passer Drake Maye with the third overall pick in the first round.
