The older I get, the more aware I’m becoming of the Cincinnati Bengals’ organizational failure.
I have older friends, coworkers, family, etc, who have told me for the last few years about the historical blunders from this organization. I have always been a fan and I always will be a fan, but again, being a fan doesn’t put blinders on you to not be aware of the obvious mistakes and failure of something, in this case, an organization.
To date, there are plenty of years and drafts when I’m ecstatic for the upcoming season, and I find myself defending them...

After a week off, the Cincinnati Bengals are getting geared up for another divisional game week as they face off with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
With a 33-31 win over the Steelers in Week 7, the Bengals hold a 2-0 division record while sitting in third place in the AFC North at the moment, meaning a win in Pittsburgh could go a long way if they hope to make any kind of postseason push.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of variables that have to play into this team’s favor at the moment to make that seem like a reality. With Flacco...

The Cincinnati Bengals, regardless of whether it’s Joe Burrow or Joe Flacco under center, have one of the best offenses in the league. They also have one of the worst defenses – not just bad, but historically bad.
The result is mediocre at best, disappointing at worst. And those results are reflected by the latest NFL Power Rankings.
According to ESPN, the Bengals, 3-6 on the season, currently stand at No. 24, down one spot after their Week 10 bye. Much of that is thanks to the chemistry that has been established between Flacco and All-Pro receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Chase...

The Cincinnati Bengals opened the 21-day window for quarterback Joe Burrow to return from the Reserve/Injured list Monday, but he does not have to play in a game before that window expires.

This was a huge draft class for the Bengals that has had very mixed results so far.
You have two linebackers who have been productive but also made a lot of mistakes.
You have a 1st-round pick who has only one more tackle than your 6th-round pick, which is crazy since only one of them plays defense.
And then there are the pair of guards who are both starting.
I think we all knew that 1st-round pick Shemar Stewart was a bit of a project, but you would have liked to have seen more out...

It’s hard to imagine, but maybe there is still light at the end of the tunnel for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Despite two of the most horrible losses imaginable, the Bengals are still only two games out of the lead in the AFC North. The Bengals had a bye this past week and hopefully spent lots of time working on tackling. We’ll find out soon enough when Cincinnati travels to Pittsburgh Sunday afternoon.
Despite a 25-10 thrashing at the hands of the Los Angeles Chargers Sunday night, Pittsburgh, at 5-4, still stands atop the division, with the Baltimore Ravens closing fast....

Joe Burrow is back at practice and hopeful he can be back by Thanksgiving.
But Adam Schefter isn’t so confidence the star QB will be ready to go for a big game against the Baltimore Ravens on Thanksgiving in a couple weeks.
The NFL insider began his prediction by saying that he originally thought it was more likely Burrow wouldn’t play at all this year. “Their record was such, it wouldn’t be worth bringing him back,” he said. “Now it looks like he is gonna play again.”
Schefter then went on to say that Burrow is aiming for Thanksgiving, but...

Zac Taylor’s job is in jeopardy in large part due to a Cincinnati Bengals defense that has shown little discipline in recent weeks.
According to Sports Illustrated’s Matt Verderame, Taylor has the third-hottest seat in the entire NFL.
The writer pointed out that letting defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo go has backfired, as the defense has only gotten worse. Here’s what he wrote:
Taylor’s decision to fire longtime defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo looks more inexcusable by the day. Anarumo now oversees the Colts’ defense, which has helped Indianapolis to first place in the AFC South. Meanwhile, Cincinnati’s defense is dead...

The Cincinnati Bengals have been in a tough slide lately, but the bye week has hopefully brought a sense of regrouping. They have a critical stretch of games ahead if they are going to make a playoff push.
One facet that will help in that endeavor is Joe Burrow, who returned to practice this week. When he returns to action is yet to be seen, but his presence is a shot in the arm, no doubt.
We discuss it all all live at 6:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday on The Orange and Black Insider. Join us as we discuss the...

The Cincinnati Bengals are officially in a tailspin…again.
Hopes of rebounding from a crushing Week 8 loss to the Jets were obliterated, as the Cincinnati defense imploded in crunch time, shattering any possibility of an improbable Bengals comeback against the Bears.
After giving up 39 points to a struggling New York offense, Al Golden’s unit responded by allowing 47 points, including Chicago’s game-winning touchdown with 17 seconds left in regulation.
Both of these scenarios also occurred on the Bengals’ home field.
One of the narratives or choruses from masses in recent years has surrounded head coach Zac Taylor relinquishing offensive...

Normally, I’d say “bye-week blues,” because watching pro football without the Cincinnati Bengals is obviously not nearly as much fun. But these aren’t normal times. I don’t think I’ve ever seen two consecutive losses as painful as the last two. Sure, there have been bad ones before—that’s nothing new in Bengals Country—but you’d have to go way back to find two that awful in back-to-back weeks.
Bengals fans everywhere feel drained. Another season lost. Same story.
That’s why this bye week was… kind of nice.
We all needed a break—from yelling, from pacing, from muttering at the TV. None of...

After another inexplicable meltdown at Paycor Stadium against the Bears, the team’s defensive unit has justifiably come under major scrutiny. After allowing 86 points in the last two games (both home games), the Bengals’ defense is flirting with dubious NFL history.
In terms of overall points allowed, Cincinnati is on pace to allow 567 yards over this 17-game season.
Oddly enough, the current holders of this distinction are the Carolina Panthers from just last season, who allowed 534 points.
Now, the caveat regarding “NFL history” is that the regular season is longer than it was in earlier days of the...
