The Jets traded up at the top of the third round to select Western Kentucky wide receiver Malachi Corley. The Jets gave up the 72nd and 157th picks in the trade.

The Jets apparently were looking to move up for Corley throughout the evening.

Corley saw increasing action in his four seasons with the Hilltoppers. The 5-11, 215-pound senior set the school record with 259 career receptions for 2,943 yards and 29 touchdowns. He was named first-team All-Conference USA in his final two seasons.

Corley is listed as a wide receiver, but his profile arguably resembles more of a hybrid type player. In college he ran a limited route tree and generated a lot of his production on screens. One will imagine the Jets will utilize him mostly on manufactured touches to utilize his ability in space.

The Jets still have three fourth round picks, a sixth round pick, and a seventh round pick remaining in the 2024 NFL Draft.
